How to be a Better Speaker when you make a Facebook Live (and get more Engagement from Your Followers)
Once you have made the decision to take your business online, the best way to raise awareness about yourself is Facebook Lives. However, it can be very difficult to make the first live recording, but if you have started, you have moved out of the comfort zone and are ready to conquer the world.
The first time I had to make a Facebook Live I was afraid to fail. I was unsure of what to talk about and the fear that others might think I was spiritually filled. I chose to challenge myself and therefore decided to make a Facebook Live every single day for 30 consecutive days. It was anxious the first many times, but quietly it became "just a video" and I found the calmness to think it was okay to talk into a mobile phone.
Maybe you should also consider challenging yourself with a series of Facebook Lives? Make a plan for what you want to say for all 30 days so you don't have to stress daily. Set up 3 points every day that are your key points and keep them on a piece of paper so you don't suddenly get stuck when you make your Facebook Live.
I even found inspiration on the topics I wanted to talk about on Google and in books. Set a deadline when you start so you can't do too many skip actions.
Below you will find 6 tips on how to make your Facebook Live better:
1. BETTER DONE THAN PERFECT
When I made my first Facebook Live it was far from perfect. Now I feel that my movies have become much better and the same will happen to you. As you practice you will find that fear disappears and you become more calm and confident. The best tip you will ever get: Don't completely care what others think! Some will love you and others will hate you, but those who love you will make your business explode over time.
2. BE PREPARED
When you make a Facebook Live, it's important that you don't just talk about the weather and other indifferent things. Write down what you want to say and if you feel insecure you should practice before you go live. Use your notes at the beginning so you have some help. I "cheat" with written bullet points on a post-it stuck on my phone so I don't forget the most important things I want to say. In time, you will find that your paper or your post-it might be dispensable.
3. BE YOURSELF
It is extremely important that you do not try to be something that you are not. Throw the facade and be yourself. Show your followers who you are. Talk as if you were facing a good friend and talking. If you make mistakes, it only helps to make you more human. There are not many people involved with you if you pretend that everything in your life is perfect. Your spectators must be able to relate to you and your life.
4. DON´T BE BORING
If you are monotonous when you make a Facebook Live, people will leave you in 30 seconds. Be alive and change pitches when speaking. Be sure to put extra pressure on key words and change pace when speaking. These things will make your audience stay and hear what you have to say.
5. USE YOUR BODY
Studies show that only a few percent of your words are used by people. Your appearance and body language account for 90% of the communication. It is therefore important that you lean forward, move your head, move an arm or make gestures that emphasize what you are talking about. Never stand completely still for a long time. If you are enthusiastic and enthusiastic, it will affect your audience. Engage your audience by raising their hands and saying something like "who agrees". Not everyone will follow your example, but it will raise the energy level of your video. This is of course quite difficult if you record with a telephone in your hand so you should acquire a tripod stand.
6. BE ALIVE
People love stories. If you share a good story you will have your audience in your hollow hand. Of course, there must be a good point in history or access to some kind of tool that can make things easier. You can possibly make a character when you tell your story. Use another voice and move your body as if you were someone else. This will make your stories more vivid and your spectators will be super engaged.
